Last night I received the most wonderful feedback from one of my clients in America. They are performing The Little Mermaid and emailed last night to say:
"Paul, I have to say, perhaps again, that you are over the top good at your craft, and beyond that you are so conscientious about getting us what we need and when we need it. Up all night working to make things work. I don’t take it for granted. I appreciate it." I just thought that was too nice not to share. Thank you Steve for your kind words - Paul

As usual, it's been far too long since I posted any updates on what's been a wonderful year.
My son, Toby, has recently turned 1 years old so as you can imagine, he's keeping me pretty busy along with my work as creative director at VPoint TV. Even with all that, I've had many wonderful clients book in shows with me for throughout 2016. In a couple of weeks my new set for CopaCabana will be making it's debut with Erewash Musical Society. Addams Family will be venturing out again, this time with Inspirations Theatre in Chesterfield. Then the big one, Rock of Ages will be bursting onto the stage in April. Then there's Grease for Solomon Artistes in Southend in June, Witches of Eastwick going out again. And to top it all off, there's only Legally Blonde and Sister Act too! What. A. Year. Anyway, we're excited to be able to take your money in newer and easier ways! Good for us both really Midlands based Theatre reviewer, Kev Castle, has reviewd Aspects of Love with a glowing report. Here's what he had to say about the projections: "the brilliant projected background, transporting you from place to place without the need for moving heavy and complicated scenery, to the technical splendour of the projections, bring reality to a static backdrop."
Thanks so much to Kev for those comments. To read his full review click here or to follow him on twitter it's @CastleKev Be sure to follow SceneryProjections.com while you're there though, it's @SceneProjection The wonderful new scenery set for Aspects of Love is now available to hire for groups across the world. The scenery set is full of action, drama, surprises and fun, coming alive to create one of the biggest and most impressive shows the company have ever produced. The show is at the Mansfield Palace Theatre from the 23rd to the 25th April. For a truly spectacular night of fun and the odd fright, book your tickets here Keep an eye for more sneeky peeks soon. If you're performing The Addams Family Musical yourself and want to enquire about renting this set then please just get in contact! On Monday 23rd March, the brand spanking new scenery set for South Pacific will be making it's maiden voyage on the stage at The Dutchess Theatre in Longeaton. Erewash Musical Society have commissioned the set which will be premiering in all it's ultra-widescreen glory and will have a few little surprises in it along the way!
This set is the epitome of why digital scenery is becoming more and more popular in theatre. It's engaging, immersive, surprising and dramatic, allowing Erewash to stage scenes like few companies ever have. To watch the stage come alive like never before, book your tickets at www.erewashmusicalsociety.co.uk/tickets As always, at the end of their production run, the set will be available for hire for any society so keep an eye out on the Designs page. Thanks again to Erewash Musical Society for being a joy to work with! With the expansion of clients and complexity of jobs that Scenery Projections is undertaking, we've had to upgrade!
A new custom designed and built edit suite was first on the list. The new machine is specifically geared for the speedy production of graphical work, especially 3D work. Already it has saved countless hours while producing the new South Pacific scenery set. The second upgrade is much less flashy but non the less essential. Backups! A new hard drive system is in place, meaning that any work created is automatically backed up onto a second hard drive, just in case anything should fail! And on top of that, all work is now automatically uploaded to a secure encrypted cloud storage space every day! Whilst these upgrades may seem boring to some, they have key benefits to you, the customer! Work can be completed quicker, meaning that more projects can be taken on with shorter turnaround times! All work is now safe and sound stored locally and in the cloud, meaning that there is absolutely no chance you could be without a show, even if the worst happens to Scenery Projections HQ. Be sure to check back soon to see the South Pacific set, it's looking gorgeous! Normally I like to help others look fantastic on stage but this week saw that flipped on me for the first time. DownStageCentre, a new website dedicated to theatre in all forms across the country, recently interviewed me and wrote a featured article about SceneryProjections for their website.
DownStageCentre is aiming to become the new hub for theatre and dramatics, especially those in amateur. It features forums, discussions, reviews, what's ons and various other content applicable to anyone in theatre. Naturally, I'm thrilled to have been asked to feature on the site and hopefully it will become a fantastic environment to share ideas for everyone. A big thank you to Ross Lowe at DownStageCentre for a wonderful article. To read the article, click here. SceneryProjections has just been commissioned to produce an array of beautiful living backdrops for the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic musical, South Pacific. I'd like to wish Erewash good luck with the rest of rehearsals and what will be another fantastic show! Check back for more news soon or follow me on twitter for more updates and other general fun!
