Has it been too long again? Of course it has! Who has time to write blogs regularly.
So just a quick update, both CopaCabana and the huge Rock of Ages are complete and available to hire. I just need to get round to making the promo video for them. Once they're online I will update again. Rest assured though, they're done, I promise! If you absolutely need to see them right this very second, get in touch and you can pop over to my newly spruced up office and take a look with me. I've got a cracking coffee machine . . . or wine, if you like that sort of thing
A huge, bombastic, rocktacular of an announcement here. Ok, it's been online for a few months, I may have forgotten to share it at the time but BAM! It's here now, in plenty of time to book your tickets!
As usual, it's been far too long since I posted any updates on what's been a wonderful year.
My son, Toby, has recently turned 1 years old so as you can imagine, he's keeping me pretty busy along with my work as creative director at VPoint TV.
Even with all that, I've had many wonderful clients book in shows with me for throughout 2016. In a couple of weeks my new set for CopaCabana will be making it's debut with Erewash Musical Society. Addams Family will be venturing out again, this time with Inspirations Theatre in Chesterfield. Then the big one, Rock of Ages will be bursting onto the stage in April. Then there's Grease for Solomon Artistes in Southend in June, Witches of Eastwick going out again. And to top it all off, there's only Legally Blonde and Sister Act too!
What. A. Year.
I'd like to thank all of my clients for using SceneryProjections whether it's the first time or returning, I love helping you all create wonderful shows. It's really great fun.

Credit card payment can be especially useful for international customers or for educational customers who don't want the hassle of purchase orders or supplier lists.
Anyway, we're excited to be able to take your money in newer and easier ways! Good for us both really
Midlands based Theatre reviewer, Kev Castle, has reviewd Aspects of Love with a glowing report. Here's what he had to say about the projections: "the brilliant projected background, transporting you from place to place without the need for moving heavy and complicated scenery, to the technical splendour of the projections, bring reality to a static backdrop."
Thanks so much to Kev for those comments. To read his full review click here
or to follow him on twitter it's @CastleKev
Be sure to follow SceneryProjections.com while you're there though, it's @SceneProjection

Wow it's been a busy old time so far in 2015! The recent highlights were The Addams Family Musical for HMTC (which I tech directed) and for Tyne Theatre Stage School, Beauty and the Beast with LongEaton Operatic, Inspirations Theatre in chesterfield have signed on for Bad Girls in Sepetember and work has also begun on my biggest show to date!
Aspects of Love presented by Erewash Musical Society will have a whopping 18 unique scenes, many of which will have different lighting states for different times of day. It's huge! Never one to tun from a challenge though, work has already begun on what promises to be a rather unique show!
In other news, advanced talks are underway for SceneryProjections' first Panto, another huge and exciting project for February as well as a couple more intriguing possibilities.
Big news from my local company HMTC also. They have a new show booked in that I will be Tech Directing again and it's a big one! So big in fact that it deserves it's own video just to announce it! (Also, legally I can't say what it is until August 1st). Rest assured though, all will be revealed!

Erewash Musical Society have commissioned the set which will be premiering in all it's ultra-widescreen glory and will have a few little surprises in it along the way!
This set is the epitome of why digital scenery is becoming more and more popular in theatre. It's engaging, immersive, surprising and dramatic, allowing Erewash to stage scenes like few companies ever have.

With the expansion of clients and complexity of jobs that Scenery Projections is undertaking, we've had to upgrade!
A new custom designed and built edit suite was first on the list. The new machine is specifically geared for the speedy production of graphical work, especially 3D work. Already it has saved countless hours while producing the new South Pacific scenery set.
The second upgrade is much less flashy but non the less essential. Backups! A new hard drive system is in place, meaning that any work created is automatically backed up onto a second hard drive, just in case anything should fail! And on top of that, all work is now automatically uploaded to a secure encrypted cloud storage space every day!
Whilst these upgrades may seem boring to some, they have key benefits to you, the customer! Work can be completed quicker, meaning that more projects can be taken on with shorter turnaround times! All work is now safe and sound stored locally and in the cloud, meaning that there is absolutely no chance you could be without a show, even if the worst happens to Scenery Projections HQ.
Be sure to check back soon to see the South Pacific set, it's looking gorgeous!
Normally I like to help others look fantastic on stage but this week saw that flipped on me for the first time. DownStageCentre, a new website dedicated to theatre in all forms across the country, recently interviewed me and wrote a featured article about SceneryProjections for their website.
DownStageCentre is aiming to become the new hub for theatre and dramatics, especially those in amateur. It features forums, discussions, reviews, what's ons and various other content applicable to anyone in theatre. Naturally, I'm thrilled to have been asked to feature on the site and hopefully it will become a fantastic environment to share ideas for everyone.
A big thank you to Ross Lowe at DownStageCentre for a wonderful article.

Once the performances are finished the scenery set will be available for hire to all other companies and I'm sure it will be very popular. I'd like to wish Erewash good luck with the rest of rehearsals and what will be another fantastic show!

Here is the video of the scenery!
Remember to get in Contact if you're doing Bad Girls or any other show and need to hire some projected digital scenery.
As the site is so new, there is currently nothing on the portfolio page. Very sorry about that! Existing scenery will be uploaded soon, including a stunning set for the hit show "Bad Girls". This video set includes animations, scene transitions and sets for the prison locations, fire, rain, fireworks and more!
Over the next few months more shows will be added including Witches of Eastwick, South Pacific and the brand new The Addams Family Musical.
Remember though, if you're doing any other show, Paul will design the set for your show with no extra charge! First time buyers get the advantage of the scenery being designed specifically for them!
So, sorry there's nothing up quite yet but keep a look out for changes soon. In the meantime, please contact Paul to see what magic he can create for your next production!
Paul was recently challenged to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by Thomas Clay of Heanor Musical Theatre Company. Not one to back away from such a request, Paul completed the challenged in his usual style. The Ice Bucket Challenge has been a fantastic campaign for a fantastic charity so if you enjoyed the video please consider donating to alsa.org/donate
The site is currently being built and a new project is underway with Erewash Musical Society for The Witches of Eastwick!
Whilst the site is in it's infancy please forgive it's lack of content, this will obviously build up over time and will hopefully turn into a great hub of digital scenery.
In the meantime, if your society wants truly professional digital scenery or videos for your next show, please get it touch!
